Little Red River and Heber Springs Area Information The Little Red River is known world-wide as the home of the world record brown trout caught in 1992 weighing 40 pounds, 4 ounces. Yes, the Little Red is the home of record breaking trout, but it is also a river that will challenge the experienced fly-fisherman as well as encourage the novice fisherman with easy catches of pan-size rainbows. Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat and Brook trout may be enticed with just the right lure or bait.
Trout fishing is just one of many activities available in the Heber Springs area. There are many golf courses in the area including one just a mile down the road from the resort. Greers Ferry Lake offers boating, jet skiing, fishing, swimming, hiking and just plain fun year round at various Corps of Engineers parks and boat launch areas. Heber Springs is the home of nationally recognized artist Glynda Turley. Her factory and showroom are nearby. There are many local businesses nearby including restaurants and antique shops.
